1. Publisher

Meylo is published and operated by:

Our contact details appear once JavaScript is enabled. We display them this way to protect them from automated harvesting.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Meylo, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

3. Who can use Meylo

You must be at least 16 years old, or the lower age your country allows for consenting to online services, such as 15 in France. If you use Meylo on a device that belongs to an organisation, make sure you are allowed to.

4. What Meylo is

Meylo is a private mood journal. You record a day with a rating, activities, emotions, notes, photos and optional context, and the app turns that history into charts, recaps and memories. Sharing with friends, conversations, notifications, weather and AI recaps are optional features you switch on yourself.

Meylo is currently provided free of charge. If paid options are introduced later, their price and conditions will be presented before any purchase, and purchases will go through the app store you installed Meylo from.

5. Meylo is not a medical service

Meylo is a well-being journal. It is not a medical device, it provides no diagnosis, and it must never replace advice from a qualified health professional.

Charts, correlations and AI recaps are descriptive summaries of what you wrote. They are not clinical findings. If you are struggling, talk to a health professional. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services immediately.

6. Your account

You are responsible for the account you create:

  • provide accurate information and keep it up to date;
  • keep your credentials confidential and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access;
  • a guest account exists only on the device that created it until you attach real credentials, and it can be lost;
  • everything done through your account is treated as done by you.

7. Your content

Your entries, notes, photos and messages remain yours. We claim no ownership over them.

To operate the service you ask for, you grant us a strictly limited, non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and transmit your content for as long as it is stored. This licence exists only to display your content to you and to the people you deliberately share it with, and it ends when the content or your account is deleted. We never use it to publish, promote or license your content elsewhere.

You are responsible for what you record and share, and for having the right to share it, in particular when photos show other people.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Meylo to:

  • break the law, or publish illegal, hateful or violent content, or sexual content involving minors;
  • harass, threaten, impersonate or defame anyone;
  • publish someone else's personal data or images without their consent;
  • attack, probe, overload or circumvent the security of the service;
  • extract data massively, automate access, or reuse the content of the service without permission;
  • resell the service, or use it to send advertising or unsolicited messages.

You can block a user or leave a conversation at any time. If you come across content that breaks these rules, report it to us at the contact address below.

9. Social features

Sharing is always opt-in. An entry becomes visible to your friends only once you publish it, and unpublishing removes it. Solo mode turns off every sharing feature at once. Keep in mind that anyone who can see your content can also copy it: only share what you are comfortable sharing.

10. Availability

We do our best to keep Meylo available and working, but we provide it on an as-is basis, without a guarantee of uninterrupted, error-free or loss-free operation. Maintenance, incidents and third-party outages can interrupt the service.

We may add, change or withdraw features. When a change substantially reduces what the service offers, we announce it beforehand where reasonably possible. Export your data regularly: the app offers an export in the data settings.

11. Third-party data and services

Meylo relies on external data and services, each governed by its own terms:

City search and the conversion of a device position into a city name use a local index derived from the GeoNames cities500 dataset, copyright GeoNames, distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. The dataset is bundled with the app and queried on your device. GeoNames provides it without warranty of accuracy, timeliness or completeness.

Weather and daylight data come from Open-Meteo. They are best-effort enrichment and can be missing or approximate.

The Android application is distributed through Google Play, whose own terms apply to installation, updates and any purchase.

12. Intellectual property

Meylo, its name, its logo, its interface, its texts and its software remain the property of the publisher. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service, and nothing more. You may not copy, adapt, decompile or create derivative works of the service beyond what the law expressly allows.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Meylo at any time and delete your account from the settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; the dedicated page explains exactly what is removed.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or that puts the service or its users at risk. Except where the law or the seriousness of the breach prevents it, we warn you first and give you a chance to respond.

14. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is, without warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

We are not liable for indirect damage, for the loss of data you did not export, for loss of profit, or for the consequences of a use that breaches these terms. Where our liability is engaged, it is limited to the foreseeable damage directly caused by us.

Nothing in these terms removes the rights French and European consumer law gives you, nor our liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or harm to a person.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

In case of a dispute, contact us first: most issues are settled that way. If no agreement is reached, you may turn to a consumer mediator or to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, or bring the matter before the competent courts.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version. When a change is material, we announce it in the app or by email before it applies; continuing to use Meylo after that means you accept the new version.

17. Contact

For any question about these terms, or to report content, write to us.
